About us

Our Community

Carson FUMC is a historic congregation looking to the future.  We are multi-cultural, multi-generational, diverse in politics and personal beliefs, and embrace the UMC motto of 'open hearts, open minds, open doors.'

Whether you are looking for a traditional pipe organ+hymns service, contemporary praise, or contemplative silence, you can find it here. You will also find a Church Family of caring individuals reaching out to each other and the greater community, living life together.

The church bustles Sunday mornings from 7:40-12:15, with two services, Sunday School, Faith Links, Youth, Coffee Hour, Basement Bible Club,  and more.  Throughout the week the church is open for various small groups, ongoing ministries, youth group, music rehearsals, interfaith partnerships, dinners, recovery groups and other community organizations.  There is always something happening at FUMC.

In the Wesleyan tradition, we believe our faith is shaped by Scripture, tradition, experience, and reason (The Wesleyan Quadrilateral) Find out more about the faith of the United Methodist Church at the UMC website.   Our diverse Church Family places importance on our relationships with each other over 'being right.'

Our Church Family lives in community together with regular Sunday Worship and more than 215 active members of Small Groups and Ongoing Ministries throughout the week.  We are active in our local community through many ongoing outreach ministries and interfaith connections such as our Small Blessings Preschool, involvement with Capital City Circles Initiative and FISH, and global ministry involvement through UMCOR, UMC Global Ministries, Imagine No Malaria, Heifer Project and more.
