We are so excited to be back in our sanctuary!   We currently hold two in-person Sunday services, one at 9 am and one at 11 am.  Our 11:00 service will also be livestreamed for those who wish to join us from home or later in the day or week.  Click Here for more information about Virtual Church.

While we are back in our building, our return to 'normalcy' will be gradual.  Currently, both services will feature the same hymns and/or contemporary Christian music, with special music presentations by our Chancel Choir at the 11:00 service.  Eventually, we will see our Joyful Noise Praise Band return to the 9:00 service, which is traditionally our 'contemporary' service.   We'll announce these changes as we are able.

We recognize that those of us returning may have varying degrees of comfort around COVID safety protocols.  With that in mind, we have two different seating options so that all can feel secure and welcome as we gather again.

Sanctuary Seating- masks & distancing optional

Face masks are optional for those who are vaccinated in the sanctuary.  Those who are unvaccinated, for any reason, are still required to wear a mask over their mouth and nose per state and our district guidelines.  There are no specific social distancing requirements in our sanctuary, but we do ask that people maintain a little space as we reacclimate to gathering together.

Aldersgate Room Seating- masks and distancing required
Our Aldersgate Room to the side of the sanctuary is reserved for those who wish to maintain stricter protocols but still wish to gather in-person.  Chairs in the Aldersgate room are spread with social distancing in mind, and masks are required for those who stay in the Aldersgate room.

We encourage all to greet one another with a hand to the heart, and simply ask before reaching out for a hug or handshake.

Coffee Hour

While our Wesley Room is still closed for Coffee Hour, all are encouraged to linger after service on the lawns of the church and preschool to visit.

Nursery, PreK-12G Sunday School
Our PreK-grade 12 Sunday School program and nursery are currently suspended, but again, please watch announcements and bulletins for the reopening of our Nursery Care program and our PreK-12 grade Sunday School program.

Serve on Sundays

Anyone interested in serving as Lay Readers, Ushers, or AV Techs are invited to contact the office or Jes Houk for more information.   All ages are welcome!

As part of our commitment to Radical Hospitality, accessibility for all is a priority at FUMC.  Working in a 160-year-old building presents unique challenges to ensuring all can access our services.

Access the church and sanctuary stair-free by entering at the south Bonnie Reid entrance (location of the taxi drop-off, ramp, and automatic door) and through the Aldersgate Room to the Sanctuary.   Unfortunately, there is only stair access to the upstairs Sunday School rooms and basement.  Sunday services and activities are generally held on the ground level; an usher will be happy to help with escorting children up or downstairs to Sunday school.

Our Children's Ministry Coordinator, Pam Houghton, would be happy to discuss accommodating any special needs your child may have.  All children are invited and welcome.  Snacks are occasionally served in Sunday School;  please inform your child's teacher of any dietary needs!

Communion is served once a month with individual wrapped wafers and grape juice.  Currently there is no gluten-free bread option.

Our bulletins are available online and can be accessed from home to print out or with a smart device to view during service to allow for those with visual imparements to zoom in as needed.   The Long Form bulletin includes full a full text of all service parts for those with hearing imparements who prefer to read along.
